The best composers i have heard who arent A listers, are those who desire this so damn much, they can make the most rudimentary libraries and instruments sing like no other. ![]() It must be a lack of certain sounds etc, but in truth its just a distraction.a terrible constant distraction.being blinded by the lightbulb like a swarming moth circling pathetically lol. I personally find that when i start to crave for certain libraries and listen to my work and shame myself with its overall production, i start the blame game. Its ok to want to have the next great library and pursue yet another amazing set one after the other.if you have a big budget and you can swallow the costs, and basically you just like collecting, then go for it but you will find so much more satisfaction honing in on a couple of tools and then just becoming the master of these tools. How to tweak, push and pull the best from it and understand the vast pallet of colours you can whilst developing your voice and your own sound stylings. You could cite the likes of hollywood strings,LASS,Albion, symphobia etc etc but once you have a half decent library to get your teeth stuck into, the biggest factor is just learning your tool box. Their are an ocean of orchestral libs out there now with more to follow very soon from a few developers,so the choices are just limitless in regards to achieving a realistic and organic sound.Īs for what ranks over one product from another, that will always be subjective as its been pointed out already, an induvidual can make anything sing if you have an understanding of the nature of arrangement and how an orchestra uses its ‘colour’ and tone.
